The Park is the abode to more than 70% of One Horned Rhinos in the world. Tigers are also present in good numbers thanks to the high density of tiger’s prey which include wild buffalo and swamp deer’s. The other important wildlife found are - Leopard, Fishing Cat, other Lesser cats, Large Indian Civet, Small Indian Civet, Sambar, Barking deer, Hog deer, Gaur, Hog Badger, Hoolock Gibbon, Capped Langur, Assamese Macaque, Rhesus Macaque, Sloth Bear, Gangetic Dolphin and Otter etc.
Kaziranga is a birdwatchers paradise par excellence with more than 400 species of birds been recorded in the park. Those include 25 globally threatened and some 100 migratory species from far north Siberia. The colorful world of birds in Kaziranga consist of bigger birds like pelicans, many variety of eagles, jungle fowls, hornbills and smaller like Scarlets, sunbirds and bee-eaters etc.
